I’ve spent my career telling Thunder Bay’s stories.
Not just through press releases or pitches (those too), but through real, human storytelling that people connect with. Whether I’m writing, speaking, or guiding a visiting journalist across the region, my passion for this city is obvious... and contagious.
Over the years, I’ve secured millions of views and tens of millions of dollars in earned media value for Thunder Bay by building strong relationships with journalists, producers and influencers, crafting custom, audience-specific pitches, and curating unforgettable media experiences.
I've helped secure coverage in The New York Times, The National Post, The Independent, and Outside Magazine, and appearances on The Amazing Race Canada, PBS, and the BBC... just to name a few.
With a background in journalism and broadcast production, I understand what media needs to make a story work and I'm known for going the extra mile to deliver it. (Literally. Once I drove from Thunder Bay to a remote lodge north of Armstrong, ON and then back to Duluth, Minnesota (over 1,000km) in a single day to make sure 4 travel media got the stories they came for.)
I’ve attended dozens of media marketplace events across North America, met with hundreds of media, and pitched hundreds more stories. I've hosted 'A Night in Thunder Bay' media events in Toronto and for years was an active member of the Travel Media Association of Canada. I know how to find and pitch the right storyteller for the audience I want to reach (whether it’s a national journalist or a niche influencer), and once I've convinced them to come, I know how to build the perfect itinerary to help them tell the best possible version of our story.
And maybe most importantly: I know how to tell a good story. Whether I’m writing an article, hosting a podcast, or just holding court at an event - people tend to lean in and listen, and usually walk away seeing Thunder Bay in a whole new light.
